How is the winner of a giveaway selected?

You draw the winners yourself: when the giveaway ends, click Ready to Award in your giveaway list (Dashboard). Each entry is one chance. Works on every plan.

How does the draw work?

• Only you can start the draw. KingSumo never picks winners automatically.
• Entries count as chances. Someone with 10 entries is ten times as likely to win as someone with 1.
• Confirmed entrants go first. Winners are drawn from entrants who confirmed their entry by email. Unconfirmed entrants are only drawn if there aren't enough confirmed ones to fill every winner spot.
• You choose how many winners. Set Number of Winners in section 1. Giveaway Information of the giveaway editor (1 to 100).

How to draw your winners

1. Open your list of giveaways from Dashboard.
2. When the giveaway has ended, its status shows Ready to Award. Click it to draw the winners.
3. KingSumo shows the winners page with your winners.

Later, click the giveaway's Awarded status to open the winners page again. It lists each winner's email, entries, referrals, whether they confirmed, and their chance of winning.

After the draw

• Contact your winners yourself. KingSumo doesn't email winners, so you decide how and when to tell them. See which emails KingSumo sends automatically.
• Redraw replaces a winner with a new random pick. The person you redraw can't be picked again for that spot.
• Remove takes away a winner without picking a replacement. That person goes back into the pool and could be drawn again.
• Your public giveaway page shows the winners, with their email addresses partly hidden.

Troubleshooting

I don't see Ready to Award

The giveaway is still running or hasn't started yet. The button appears once the end date has passed.

The winners page asks me to "Draw Unconfirmed Winners"

None of your entrants confirmed their entry by email. You can draw from the unconfirmed entrants instead.

I don't want to award one of the winners

Use Redraw, not Remove. Redraw picks a replacement and can't pick the same person again; Remove leaves the spot empty and the person can be drawn again.
