Why can’t I see people’s names in the CSV file I downloaded?

Names appear in your CSV only if you tick Name under Contestants Must Provide in the giveaway editor (Dashboard → Edit), a Lifetime Plan feature.

Why is the Name column empty?

By default, people enter a KingSumo giveaway with just their email address, so there is no name to export. The CSV always has a Name column, but it stays empty for entrants who were never asked.

How to collect entrants' names

1. Open the giveaway editor.
2. In section 1. Giveaway Information, find Contestants Must Provide:.
3. Tick Name. To get first and last names separately, also tick Require last name. Tick Phone Number if you want phone numbers too.
4. Click Save.

This option is available on the Lifetime Plan. On the Free plan it shows Upgrade to Unlock; see how to buy the Lifetime Plan. On the Lifetime Plan the CSV also includes First Name and Last Name columns.

Troubleshooting

Some entrants have a name and others don't

Entrants who entered before you started asking for a name have no name on file.

The Name checkbox is greyed out

Your account is on the Free plan, so Name and Phone Number are locked and Upgrade to Unlock appears below them. Collecting names needs the Lifetime Plan.

Can I collect names on the Free plan?

No. Asking entrants for extra details is part of the Lifetime Plan.

Can I get the names of people who already entered?

No. KingSumo only saves a name when someone first enters, so people who entered before you ticked Name have none on file.
